Take Ownership of the Words You Speak
Jaineel Mistry
Whether you realise it or not, you are always in the act of creation.
The words you speak shape your world. By taking control of these narratives, you begin to shift not just how you feel — but how life responds to you.
The problem is that most of us are unconsciously, and often innocently, crafting a narrative that doesn’t serve what we want to create.
We allow our past and the opinions of others to dictate our self-identity, trapping us in a cycle of limitation and unfulfilled potential.
But mastering the art of self-creation is not just beneficial — it’s essential for living a fulfilling and deeply aligned life.
“Life is not about finding yourself, it’s about creating yourself.”— George Bernard Shaw
The Way You Speak About Yourself
Your words are not commentary — they’re construction tools.
Every time you speak, you’re either building your future or reinforcing your past.
When you say:
Your nervous system listens. And it obeys.
There’s an ancient root meaning of the magical word abracadabra — it translates to:
“As I speak, so I create.”
Your language is not neutral.
It’s creative. It carries vibration. Weight and memory.
And most of the time, we don’t even hear what we’re saying.
Your words are spells. Speak as if your future depends on it — because it does.
Try this instead (not sugarcoated, but empowering):
Now — here’s the nuance.
This isn’t about pretending.
It’s not about slapping affirmations over deep-seated self-doubt.
In fact, the danger here is that if you don’t believe what you’re saying, you’ll just feel like you’re lying to yourself.
And that disconnect creates more resistance.
So yes, changing your words is powerful.
But only when it comes with awareness, embodiment, and an inner rewiring that takes place over time.
Believing Before Seeing
There’s an element of letting go of the older narrative.
A rewiring of the nervous system — which will always feel weird at first.
It requires stepping into belief before the evidence shows up.
For example, sometimes when I’m out running, feeling tired and heavy, I’ll start saying out loud:
“I am a high-performing endurance athlete. I am powerful, nimble, fast.”
Not to ignore how I feel.
But to connect with a version of me — my higher self — that I know exists beyond the story of fatigue or limitation.
It’s not about faking it.
It’s about remembering.
It’s about taking ownership.
24 hour Audit
Audit your language for one day.
At the end of the day, write down 3 phrases you said (out loud or in your head) that weakened your energy.
Then rewrite them into declarations of power.
Speak those the next morning — with intention and belief.
As your mind slows, it becomes easier to catch these inner narratives. But catching them isn’t enough. You must become the deliberate author of a new story.
You can train that voice to become your biggest cheerleader.
In my own life, the more I practise this, the more I’ve stopped questioning my worth or wondering whether I deserve something.
I’ve become more decisive.
More courageous.
Not because I’ve “arrived” — but because I no longer give power to thoughts that don’t serve who I’m becoming.
It’s all a big game.
And if we have the audacity, we can write our own rules — around who we are, the life we live, and the game we play.
The world doesn’t respond to your potential.
It responds to your self-perception.
For things to transform, you must transform the way you are creating yourself.
The Two Wolves
There’s a fable of a wise man who told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside every person.
“My son, the battle is between two wolves. One is Evil — it represents anger, envy, sorrow, regret, arrogance, guilt, self-pity, inferiority. The other is Good — it represents joy, peace, love, hope, humility, kindness, truth.”
The grandson asked, “Which wolf wins?”
The wise man replied, “The one you feed.”
The same goes for the thoughts about ourselves.
Every phrase you repeat.
Every belief you internalise.
Every word you speak.
It’s all feeding one of the wolves.
Reflection Prompt
Which thoughts are you currently feeding about yourself?
Are they aligned with the version of you that you are here to become?
If not, pause.
And choose again.
Conscious creation is always available —
Not someday, but right now, with the very next thought you choose to believe.
If this landed, share it with someone who needs to stop searching for themselves and start creating who they truly are.
With love,
Jaineel
