3 Principles to Attract More of What You Want
Jaineel Mistry
Today, I’m going to share 3 principles that will allow you to attract more of what you want with greater ease and flow.
What I share today has transformed the lives of more than 200 people I’ve coached.
It’s a pathway from stagnation to life’s flow.
The problem is that most people find themselves chasing success (however they define that) rather than attracting it.
Chasing success is like chasing an illusionary horizon. You keep on running toward it and it keeps on further away. You get into a rut, feel tired, and burnt out. Attracting it is something that happens with more ease, flow, and joy.
Your desires will not be fulfilled by chasing it. They can be attracted by who you are.
Key Takeaways From Today:
1. Allow yourself to be obsessed
I was in a boardroom meeting a few weeks back in London looking out from the 10th floor presenting on the success I’ve had in winning business in my first three months of a new role.
It dawned on me how easy this was for me now. And how this was a result of 20 years of obsession.
The last few years I’ve been so focused on building my coaching work, I’ve sometimes been in the trap of ‘escapism’. Escaping what once was my dream – a career in the pharmaceutical industry.
I had forgotten what got me here over the last 20 years – an obsession, a dream, a vision.
I was obsessed from the age of 16 to work in the pharmaceutical industry. I thought about it every day.
The problem is many of us don’t allow ourselves to be obsessed.
Many believe that obsession is unhealthy.. But there can be a healthy level of obsession. An obsession that makes us feel alive.
An obsession that gives you zest for life! An obsession that keeps you going when times are tough.
You can still be obsessed with something and detached from it.
Imagine living a life that is not focused on something that lights you up?
Mediocre. Bland. So-So.
Allow yourself to be obsessed. Allow yourself to be lit up, excited, and inspired. And if you don’t know what that is yet, be obsessed with finding it.
What’s feeding you energy right now and lighting you up? Focus more on that.
2. Don’t search for 100% clarity
We’ve been educated in a world where the path was laid out in front of us. You go to school, go through the years, take specific exams before heading off to university to get a degree and a job.
Society had given us this path so we didn’t have to figure much out ourselves.
Then we enter the real world and feel lost, confused, and question ourselves as we feel we need to have it all figured out.
Even more so with exponential changes in technology and the way the world now operates.
If you relied on others for a sense of direction in life, you’ll never live true to yourself.
Clarity is something that emerges from within you when you create space to do the world of self-discovery. Most of the time, it isn’t the whole path that comes into the picture. It’s the next step. It’s a little whisper, it’s rarely a clear map forward.
If you want to live a life of deliberate creation you’re going to have to get used to figuring things out as you go along the journey.
The greater you can deal with uncertainty, the more you are able to navigate your life.
Don’t search for clarity on the full path. Focus on the next step.
3. Remember how far you’ve come
As you work on the next thing you want, it’s easy to forget the life you’re now living was once a dream.
I’ve been caught in this trap many times. How does this look like?
There have been many times in the past few years I’ve found myself trying to escape a career I had built. I had been chasing the next thing. Resulting in a lack of fulfilment, lack of confidence, lack of life satisfaction.
This energy isn’t going to attract more of what I want…but the energy of appreciation will.
It is important to regularly reflect on how far you’ve come in life and who you’ve become.
The resilience you’ve shown, the times you took risks, the work you did on yourself.
Looking back on how far you’ve climbed on your mountain gives you faith and keeps you inspired to keep on going.
