5 Areas of Personal Growth I’m Exploring
Jaineel Mistry
This week, I celebrate 35 years orbiting the sun and in today’s newsletter, I’m going to share 5 areas I’ve reflected on and currently exploring in my own journey of self-mastery and personal growth.
I hope there’s one or two things that may be also relevant for you on your journey that you can take away from my sharing.
Core theme: As I sit here in Greece this past week, the message I continue to receive during my mindfulness moments is this: Let go.
In the words of Professor David Hawkins “Letting of resistance to the moment allows us to experience the joy of existence.”
1. Go for what I really want
To a child, this sounds really silly because it’s so obvious. We were born going for what we really wanted. My 2-year old daughter will certainly make sure she get’s what she wants regardless of what I think.
We were born selfish. Yet taught over time to sacrifice our true desires for the wellbeing of others or worse, to please others. I’m of the inclination that when I pursue my true desires, desires of my highest self (my soul) the whole world benefits.
My true desires to:
Whatever it may be, me going for what I want doesn’t mean I’m taking away things from others. In fact, it benefits the world if it benefits my soul.
As I was reflecting, I can see areas of my life where I’ve held back on going for what I deeply want. Sometimes not really being aware myself that I was.
I have noticed myself shying away from asking directly for what I want. Why?
This all ends up in a life of regret. A feeling of not really having lived to my potential. I don’t want that.
Intention at 35: Let go of anything (stories, thoughts etc.) that comes in my way of what I deeply want and go for what I want. Ask for it, take action toward it.
2. 100% vibrational ownership
Everything in our lives we have attracted through our vibrational set point. For some, this is a bit “woo-woo”. The science shows this, as does your life experience.
Let’s take wealth and money for example. I have worked hard for most of my life for “success”. It’s all that I knew. That’s how I got good grades at school through to success at University and then in my career in management consulting.
Yet, money (which is still a portion of my definition of success) doesn’t follow hard work.. Money is energy. Money follows energetic vibration of abundance and wealth consciousness.
Same goes for attracting relationships or arguments in a relationship.
I’ve noticed myself recently with what we would call “shortage consciousness”. That there’s a finite amount of resources on this planet.
What a bunch of BS. This planet is abundant. There are no resources being shipped in from Jupiter.
I want to take more ownership of everything I am experiencing in my life. Whether it be a conflict at work, a disagreement with my wife or a new subscribers to this email community.
Own it all. If it don’t like what I’m experiencing, take 100% responsibility and start letting go of resistance and allow my natural innate abundant energy to rise. The world starts to then shift around me as my energy changes.
Intention at 35: Let go of complaining about external circumstances and take 100% ownership of how I’m feeling and what I’m attracting.
3. More focused work, less is more
I’m a guy with my head in the clouds. Many ideas, a big vision, and I want to have everything done yesterday. Sound familiar to you?
I have a specific personality type that is geared toward being a visionary. Which is great when you’re leading a company or a team. But as a one man band I need to be better at executing ideas.
That means, getting real that I can’t do every project right now.
Focusing on less is more.
I will get much further in a few projects that succeed well so I can then people around me to support.
Trying to do too much will lead to burnout, no results, and frustration.
Intention at 35: Let go of doing too much and focus on a few important projects well.
4. Use frameworks for chaotic thinking
Leading on from my previous point of chaotic thinking, as a creator I have many ideas and insights I want to share.
What is difficult is telling it in an easily digestible way.
You may have noticed my newsletters have become shorter and more focused over time (ok, maybe not this one).
I’m starting to use more frameworks in my life so I can share my ideas and fit it into a framework to guide the presentation of it.
The same is happening with the book I’m writing. But I’m also reflecting on how I can use frameworks in other areas of my life without being too rigid.
For example, my daily routines follow a framework so I can be adaptable given the situation.
If I want to build more relationships and build my network – what framework can I put into place to help me execute on this?
One thing is having a set slot in my calendar to fill up with attending an event where I can start looking to fill.
Frameworks serve as a filter for me to purify my thinking, help me execute on areas of life whilst remaining adaptable and nimble.
Intention at 35: Let go chaotic execution and use frameworks as guides to filter my thinking and living.
5. Build meaningful relationships
Over the last 5 years I feel like I’ve been in my own cocoon. Working from home, doing my thing, yes I’ve built a network but it’s been passive and mainly online.
As I turn 35 a desire of mine over the next five years to 40, is to really build more meaningful relationships with like-minded people.
Intentionally getting myself out there to find people who are on my wavelength, who I can serve, who I can learn from, collaborate with and share interesting and insightful conversations.
I want to get into rooms where I feel like an imposter to help me grow as an individual and also get into rooms where I can share my gift an uplift people.
Many times in the past I have felt stopped by a lack of confidence or worthiness to be in certain rooms. Rather than embracing that, I’ve allowed it to stop me.
Intention at 35: Notice and let go of the stories that hold me back and ask to be in rooms and conversations that feel scary, uncomfortable but make me feel alive!
This was a slightly different newsletter to most but I thought it may be helpful on your journey. I also wanted to share that I don’t have it all figured out, and never will.
I’m constantly going deeper and deeper myself on the Lead From Within process model I take my clients through (which I’ll be snippets of in this newsletter as time goes on).
The journey of self-mastery never ends and the deeper we go, the more fun it becomes as we experience numerous life rewards.
